With $3,000 up for grabs you’d be hard-pressed to find a more lucrative ametuar competition in Brisbane.
Welcome to the 2021 Battle of the Champions.
To be held Saturday December 11 at Hibiscus Stadium, the annual competition will see the best futsal teams from Brisbane and beyond battle it out for bragging rights.
“The competition always brings out the best in everyone and with $3,000 on offer the calibre of teams and players is first-class,” Brisbane Central Futsal owner Michael Contoudios said.
“It’s always a wonderful occasion for players and spectators alike and this year will be no different. I can’t wait to see the passion and skill come out in all players who grace the pitch.”
And defending Champions Hazara Lions Futsal Club are early favourites as they aim for back-to-back titles.
Having blitzed the filed last year, Mr Contoudios implored all comers to test their mettle against the reigning champions.
“Hazara Lions Futsal Club are always strong and I know they will be doing all they can to successfully defend their title,” he said.
“It’s up to the rest of the field to prove their worth and show they can match it with Hazara and try to knock them off their perch.”
And with the competition less than a fortnight away, Mr Contoudios said time was running out to register.
“A lot of people talk the talk but it’s time to walk the walk and register your team to show you’ve got what it takes,” he said.
“And with $3,000 on the table for the taking, sign up and show your peers that you are as good as you say you are.
“Bring it on.” Read more…
